Mile Kekin, Tomislav Torjanac (illustrator)
Profil (HR) 2022.
EN “Tomislav Torjanac […] has become the go-to man for picture books about outsiders.”
– Valentina Sertić, glazba.hr
“[...] Awakened picturebookship is one
of the few positive trends within Croatian publishing. And not only
within publishing, but literature as well. It is a stylistic &
genre-wise step forward that is beneficial to illustrators – even
the greatest ones fronted by Tomislav Torjanac – but also the
writers themselves. By writing for children, in a way, they create a
template for their future adult manuscripts.”

“[...] Probuđeno slikovničarstvo jedan je od
rijetkih pozitivnih trendova unutar hrvatskoga nakladništva. I ne samo
nakladništva, nego i književnosti.

Petit
– the first picture book by the musician Mile Kekin & based on the
lyrics of his song of the same name – celebrates diversity and
imperfection through a simple message and visual solutions that
complement it. |
|
Mala
– prva slikovnica glazbenika Mile Kekina i nastala prema stihovima
njegove istoimene pjesme – slavi različitost i nesavršenost kombinacijom

Messages like the one Petit
sends with its words and pictures always find their way to those who
are open to the idea of equality, acceptance of diversity and thinking
outside the box imposed on us from an early age by the real and
(especially) digital environment. |
|
Poruke poput one koju Mala
ideji jednakosti, prihvaćanju različitosti i razmišljanju izvan okvira

“Petit
people” are easily lost in the crowd and have a hard time fighting the
imposed direction of movement. Inertia is a tough player. Fortunately,
some are born “non-petit” or are encouraged to expand out of bounds and
grow into “non-petit people” who stand out in the crowd like
lighthouses. If it weren’t for them, the world of “petit people” would
have run aground a long time ago. |

Mali
ljudi lako se izgube u masi i teško se othrvaju nametnutom smjeru
kretanja.
